Something special has been brewing in Wickham Market, and I am so excited to finally share it with you all. As of late November 2025, I officially took over the keys to Café No. 46, fulfilling a long-held dream of owning my own community space.
A Dream Come True
For those of you I haven’t met yet, I’m Ty Preston. Running a café has always been a little dream of mine, sparked by my own love for stopping off for a coffee while out on dog walks. When the opportunity to take over from Nicola arose, it felt like the perfect moment to jump in.
Since opening officially under my management in early December 2025, the welcome from this community has been beyond anything I could have expected. It already feels like a “home from home”.
Keeping the Best, Adding the New
You’ll still see some familiar faces behind the counter, including our fantastic top barista, Alex, who has been instrumental in helping me learn the ropes. While we’re keeping the cozy atmosphere you love, we’ve also been busy making a few updates:
- 5-Star Standards: I am thrilled to announce that we were recently awarded a 5-star hygiene rating (Very Good) by East Suffolk Council—a testament to the hard work our team puts in every day.
- Locally Sourced Favourites: We are proud to serve premium local produce, including bacon and chipolatas from the legendary E.W. Revett & Son, served in our signature XL baps.
- A Digital Refresh: We’ve officially launched our brand-new website cafe46.co.uk to help you stay updated with our latest handcrafted cakes and menu specials.

Whether you’re a regular who has been visiting for years or a new face looking for a quiet corner and free Wi-Fi, our doors are open Tuesday through Saturday.
